ABIJAH, (Hebrew for 'My Father is Jehovah') was born Andrew Smith to Cynthia Wignol and Winston Smith on June 9. His father was a drummer with the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari and Abijah started off by hanging around his father's band and learning to play the congo drums.
Before he was 6 years old, he realized that there was more inside of him and he knew he had to find what God wanted him to do. He realized that God wanted him to sing.

He began to practice his art by rehearsing and performing with his father's band. He then went on to become his own choreographer and voice trainer as he imitated every move and song of one of his favorite entertainers, Michael Jackson. For a while he took on the stage name "Quenchers" and voiced tracks with several internationally renowned deejays. In more recent years, after becoming a disciple of Jesus in Jamaica, Abijah further honed his singing and performing skills as a part of his church band.

Now managed by Premium Entertainment Limited, he has moved on to formal voice, speech as well as guitar training. Backed by the Krew Shall Impact band, he has electrified audiences in Jamaica, Trinidad and Grand Cayman and attracted media attention on several occasions. He also participated in the Caribbean Music Expo (www.cme.com.jm) in November 2000.

With his beginnings firmly grounded in Reggae, combined with the deep convictions of his faith, Abijah gets ready to express himself and make a difference in this world of disorder. Together with Mikie Bennett and some of the best musicians Jamaica has to offer, he is preparing to release his first album. This is just a taste of things to come.
