Associated with the International Churches of Christ, the Kingston Church of Christ was officially planted in January 1987. At present, the church membership stands at almost 1,300. The church is led by a dynamic team, which is headed
by Lead Evangelist Damian Jean-Baptiste. Damian's wife Karlene serves as
the principal Women's Ministry Leader. The Jean-Baptistes are assisted by six associate Evangelists, Brian Santos, Craig Reynolds, Courtney Bailey, Franklyn Walters, Tyrone Marcus and Rohan Wong and six Women's Ministry Leaders; Michelle Santos, Particia Parnell, Lovette Bailey, Nadine Walters, Nadine Reynolds, Michelle Marcus and Shelley Wong ( WMLs and Evangelists section). In order to best meet the needs of our members and
friends, the church is divided into Regions, namely Western, Southland,
Great North, Big East, Campus, Central, Jewels, Teens, Mandeville,
Spanish Town, May Pen and JAMM!! (Jamaica Arts & Music Ministry). JAMM!! is the entertainment arm of the Church. It
serves as an umbrella for the Church's music, singing, drama and dance
groups. The backbone of JAMM!! is the critically acclaimed HSL Theatre
Group. HSLT has staged major musical productions including, “Taking it
the Streets”, “Christmas Secret”, “Full Circle”, “Dollars and
Sense” and “Liberty’s Chain”. The critically acclaimed JAMM!! dancers have
continued the tradition of excellence. Over the last 4 years the group has
won a total of 12 gold and silver medals, including National Golds, as well
as 3 Certificates of Merit in the Jamaica Cultural Development
Commission’s (JCDC) Dance National Finals. Their mastery of Creative
Folk, Modern Contemporary and Popular Dance styles attest to their
versatility and standard of excellence. The JAMM!! band, renamed “Krew Shall Impact”
band, has also emerged as a force to be reckoned with on the local music
scene, and has become a popular choice at concerts, gigs and other musical
productions around the island. The Kingston Church also supports plantings in Montego Bay, May Pen, Santa Cruz, Falmouth, Luces, Morant Bay and Mandeville.
